British Motor Corporation launched the Mini on 26 August 1959. BMC had been formed by the merger of the Austin and Morris companies. The Mini was  launched in two versions - the Austin Seven and the Morris Mini-Minor. They  called the Austin "The Incredible Austin Seven" while the Morris was "Wizardry on Wheels."
