Painted in Continental Yellow and other performance colors, the Hamann POLE POSITION is based on the E46 model, and is powered by an M3 six-cylinder, four-valve engine enlarged to 3.4 liter capacity. 

Besides the capacity enlargement, the Hamann engine experts made several more modifications to the engine. In the engine compartment, the Hamann Airbox is made from Carbon/Kevlar. With its RAM-effect derived from motor racing and its larger induction pipes, it contributes greatly to the performance tune. In addition, the engine is upgraded with a special exhaust manifold and specially recalibrated elecronic control units for the Motronic and VANOS systems.

For the POLE POSITION, Hamann manufactured a specially tuned high performance exhaust system and many special components in order to fit the engine into the nose of the current E46. The power output is really spectacular! The 3.4 liter engine has 370 hp / 272 kW at 7550 rpm and produces 420 Nm of maximum torque at 3500 revs. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox from the M3 and a reinforced rear axle differential with 40 per cent locking rate. 

In this setup, the Hamann POLE POSITION catapults itself in 4.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and is 285 plus km/h fast.

The cockpit of the Hamann POLE POSITION is aesthetic and functional. 

Seats and door panels are upholstered in a yellow-black leather combination. The same colors are used on the dashboard and door panels. The sports seats provide optimal lateral seat support, while the ergonomically shaped Hamann airbag-sports-steering-wheel provides a safe and relaxed position for the driver’s hands. The gearshift lever knob and pedals are made from aluminum, giving the interior a race car touch. 

The new front spoiler bumper has large vents for coolers and front brakes. The front spoiler, which can be upgraded with additional Carbon lips, also reduces the lift at the front axle towards zero.

Downforce at the rear axle is produced using a roof spoiler, a large double rear wing, and the new rear bumper with integrated Carbon diffusor. The sporty rounded fender flarings front and rear allow the Hamann POLE POSITION to ride on extremely large wheels.

To reach maximum possible traction, the wide body version is equipped with modular Hamann Motorsport PG 2 light alloy wheels in 11Jx18 rear and ContiSportContact tyres in 275/30 ZR 19 format. To transfer the steering and braking forces, there are 9-inch wide wheels with 245/35 ZR 19 tyres on the front axle. 

Between the flarings there are integrated sporty styled side skirts. In addition, the yellow rocket is equipped with sports side mirrors and headlight covers. 

Hamann Motorsport developed a height-adjustable sports suspension which lowers the car by 40 millimeters. The chassis package additionally contains adjustable anti-roll bars, a front strut brace and a high performance brake system with 320 mm large, ventilated and perforated discs and four-pot calipers.
