Europe 2001 For the first time this season, both BMW WilliamsF1 Team drivers took the chequered flag in the European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring. They also both scored points with Juan Pablo Montoya coming second, for the second time this season, and Ralf Schumacher fourth. Ralf lost a possible second place when he was awarded a ten-second 'stop and go' penalty for crossing over the painted white line at the exit of the pit lane.

Canada 2001 The
BMW WilliamsF1 Team and Ralf Schumacher scored their second win of the year

Canada when they won their first Grand Prix. Unfortunately, Juan Pablo
Montoya retired on lap 20 after an accident.

Austria 2001 It was a disappointing Austrian Grand Prix for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team especially after an excellent qualifying performance, brilliant starts and having both cars at the front of the field. Both retirements were due to technical problems.

Catalunya 2001 It was a day of mixed fortunes for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team with Juan Pablo Montoya achieving three objectives – to finish a race, to score some points and to be on the podium. He made a great start to be sixth at the end of the first lap. With one lap to go it looked as though he would be third, but when the leader, Mika Hakkinen, stopped Juan Pablo was elevated to second. Unfortunately it was not a good day for Ralf Schumacher, who spun out on lap 21 while in fourth place.

Imola 2001 The first victory for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team since the partnership
began as Ralf Schumacher won the San Marino GP in Imola, his first Grand Prix win in the seventieth F1 race of the German driver’s career. The last victory for WilliamsF1 was three years and seven months ago (28th September 1997, Jacques Villeneuve, Nürburgring) and this is the British marque’s 104th Grand Prix success. The last victory for BMW in F1 was almost 14-and-a-half years ago, when Gerhard Berger (Benetton BMW) won the Mexican Grand Prix (12th October 1986).

Sepang 2001 The BMW WilliamsF1 Team scored its first points of the grand prix season when Ralf Schumacher put in a spectacular recovery drive to finish fifth in
Malaysia. Juan Pablo Montoya was forced to start from the pits, in the spare chassis, after his race car refused to fire up on the
grid. With the track deluged by rain many drivers spun off. On the fourth lap
Juan Pablo's car got stuck in a gravel trap and he was forced to retire.

Melbourne 2001 A sad first race of the season for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team where neither of the drivers saw the
checkered flag. Ralf Schumacher was involved in an accident where a marshal was killed and Juan Pablo had to retire in
the last part of the
race due to an engine problem. He was driving in the points at the time.
