Japan 2001 The BMW WilliamsF1 Team has finished the final race of the season with both cars in the points - Juan Pablo Montoya finished second and Ralf Schumacher sixth. However, for Ralf a ten second stop and go for straight lining the chicane and gaining a time advantage robbed him of a possible podium finish.

USA 2001 The BMW WilliamsF1 Team
was disappointed with both Juan Pablo Montoya and Ralf Schumacher retiring from the United States Grand Prix within two laps of each other. First to go was Ralf when he spun off on lap 36 and then a suspected hydraulic problem caused Juan Pablo to park his car at the side of the track.

Italy 2001 Juan Pablo Montoya won his first Grand Prix and Ralf Schumacher finished third in the Italian Grand Prix. After the race Juan Pablo said, "I think this a great day for me, especially as my father is here and it is his birthday. It was also exactly a year ago that I had my last win in
CART. At the beginning of the race I had lots of oversteer everywhere, but the car got better and better and the speed was there when I needed it."

Belgium 2001 After
qualifying in the front row, the BMW WilliamsF1 Team failed to score any points in the Belgian Grand Prix. Due to problems on the grid at both the first and second starts neither of the drivers were able to take advantage of their front row positions. Juan Pablo Montoya stalled at the first, and at the second Ralf Schumacher could not leave the grid as his car was still raised off the track after the team had run out of time changing a rear wing beam. At the end of the race Ralf was seventh, while Juan Pablo retired with an engine failure just after the re-start.

Germany 2001 Ralf Schumacher won his home Grand Prix in Germany, after a race of attrition saw only ten cars cross the finish line. A first corner accident meant that the race had to be re-started, but did allow Michael Schumacher and Luciano Burti back into the event after a frightening first corner accident caused by the German's car slowing suddenly. A fuel hose problem followed by car failure robbed Juan Pablo Montoya of his first win, after he had stretched out a convincing lead, but saw Ralf protect Williams' honour by moving up from second for victory. Car failure later put M Schumacher, Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard out of the race in close succession and allowed several unfamiliar faces into top six.

France 2001 It was a disappointing Austrian Grand Prix for the BMW WilliamsF1 Team especially after an excellent qualifying performance, brilliant starts and having both cars at the front of the field. Both retirements were due to technical problems.
