Nothing ruins a nice underhood presentation quite as much as grease all over the top of your engine. And nothing is as frequently responsible for an oil mess up top as the BMW Valve Cover Gasket. There’s a lot of high-pressure oil squirting around in the various compartments in your engine. What makes the valve cover different is that it’s usually a large piece of metal with only a few attachment points. Since the BMW valve cover gasket doesn’t have a lot of connectors holding it down, it tends to deteriorate under the constant bombardment of oil.
The nice thing about a leaking BMW valve cover gasket is that it’s generally easy to replace. Everything is right up on top of the engine, and the gasket itself is only secured by a few bolts. Valve cover gaskets aren’t expensive either. So clean up your act: Replace your BMW valve cover gasket and then power wash your engine. You’ll love the results!
