BMW Tune Up Parts have changed a lot in the past 25 years. The irony is that there are fewer tune up parts to deal with now than there were in the past. So many of your car’s ignition and fuel systems are controlled by computers, requiring no external adjustments or mechanical component replacement, that the tune up of the past really doesn’t exist anymore. So what items should be on your shopping list if you’re planning on doing a tune up on your BMW?
Spark plugs and spark plug wires are the most common replacement BMW tune up parts. These items still wear out, though not as quickly as their predecessors. If you have an older BMW, you may have a distributor cap and rotor that can be replaced, and possibly a coil as well. If your BMW is older still, the breaker points and condenser should be replaced to keep your car running well. The bottom line is to let vehicle age and condition be your guide when you’re choosing new BMW tune up parts.
