BMW tail lights are very susceptible to cracks and damage due to their plastic construction. And the red tail light tape at the auto parts store just doesn’t become your vehicle—you need to pick up a new BMW tail light lens if you have damage on your old one.
Sometimes you’ll have a BMW tail light that just doesn’t come on when it’s supposed to. Frequently, these problems are cause either by a burned out tail light bulb or a bad ground. To replace the bulb, just twist the old one out and install a new bulb of the same type.
