The Evolution of the BMW Z4
 |
Growing up, Anders Warming of Denmark always wanted to design
cars. Little did he know then the Z4 would be one of his
creations.
During the summer of ‘98, Warming created a
sketch for a car. The sketch that Warming did and the
production version of the BMW Z4 roadster are recognizable as
being one and the same.

"This is an extremely passionate
product," said Anders. When coming up with ideas for the Z4, he said
he went to such sources of inspiration as the Picasso Museum in
Paris, "to see what he was doing." Picasso, he noted, got nervous
when ending one artistic theme, looking intently for the "next best
thing." Any work of art, Warming said, is "all about graphics and
proportions and elements."
"Only time will
tell if this new BMW sports car design language is accepted, and
the Z4 is a commercial success, but lets hope that it is
celebrated for innovating as well as being questioned for
challenging the status quo."
