3 Series

In 1996, the USA 3 Series models received new engines. The 318 got an increase in displacement to 1.9 liters. The six-cylinder model became the 328 with an improved engine that increased torque by 14 percent. Vented rear disc brakes aid the 328's stopping power by reducing brake fade. Automatic climate control was standard, except in the 318ti, and improved sound systems were optional on all models.

Standard Colors in 1996 are Alpine White, Bright Red, and Jet Black. Metallic Colors are Arctic Silver, Boston Green, Calypso Red, Montreal Blue, Morea Green and Samoa Blue. Metallic Colors for the M3 are Arctic Silver, Estoril Blue, Boston Green, Cosmos Black and Techno Violet.
