BMW models from the 1960s
At the Frankfurt, Germany, auto show in September 1961, BMW displayed a prototype of a sedan it called the "New Class" sedan. The
New Class was so
good that it would become the blueprint for virtually every production BMW over the next three decades.
Experience the classic machines of the
60's here,
including the legendary 2002, a car that
helped define the modern sports sedan, the Sports
Sedans, and the CS Coupes.

1960's
|
The
1500 was the first BMW four-cylinder. Launched in 1963, the 1800 had a 90 hp engine. Some variations of the 1800 were the 1800 TI and the 1800 TI/SA.

In 1964, a 1600 model replaced the 1500. Other models included the 1600-2 and the 1600 TI. The 2000 and 2000 TI began production in January 1966.

The evolution was complete with the
2002.

The 2002 was
refined with the 2002 Turbo.
