The San Francisco Bay Area has everything: the Pacific Ocean, nearby mountains, the wine country, and now, the new MINI.
San Francisco itself is both a modern day city and a town that is steeped in Old World charm. There are the famous cable cars gliding along the rolling hills and the Golden Gate Bridge. Since the days of the Gold Rush people have
flocked to San Francisco in search of opportunity and success. During the 1960’s the city was bursting with flower children that were in search of peace, love and happiness. Some of the most important music created during that time came out of San Francisco. Today the city is a major tourist destination for anyone traveling to the west coast of the United States, and a great
place to drive a Mini!

MINI at the Palace
|
Palace of Fine Arts
The Palace of Fine Arts was created for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition by the
famous architect Bernard R. Maybeck. In the Fair, San Francisco was honoring the discovery of the Pacific Ocean, the completion of the Panama Canal, and the City's own resurrection after the earthquake and fire of 1906. The Palace of Fine Arts is probably the last of the traditional pieces of architecture to survive the modern age. Because of its beauty it has become a tourist
attraction for the State of California. There is a large pond around the structure containing many ducks, geese and swans. This is a favorite spot for wedding photos.
Behind the rotunda (pictured between the columns) is the Exploratorium, a hands-on museum and one of the finest
centers of learning in the world for kids of all ages.

MINI in front of Alcatraz
|
Alcatraz
A visit to San Francisco would not be complete without a tour of the notorious prison, Alcatraz. Built in 1858 as a fort and ending up a military prison, Alcatraz is one
of the city’s most popular tourist attractions. The Alcratraz tour takes approximately two hours. Due to high demand, it's best to book a tour of Alcatraz several weeks
ahead of time.
From Birdman of Alcratraz (1962) to The Rock (1996), Alcratraz has figured prominently in many San Francisco movies. Click here for more San Francisco movie info.
