Inside, the M3 has
several distinctive styling elements which identify it as a member of the M family.

Electrically
adjustable seat backs are optional.
You can choose from three different
types of upholstery:
- A fabric/leather combination,
- A
leather/Alcantara combination, or
- All leather trim.

Multi-function
M sports steering wheel.
The
newly designed M multifunction steering wheel has a
padded, extra-thick rim, M stitching and thumb
supports.

M
gauges including a variable redline tachometer.
In classic M style, the circular dials
and indicator needles give the driver a clear view of all the M3's functions.

When the engine is first started, orange LEDs appear with an engine speed of 4000 rpm. As the oil temperature rises, the redline increases in steps of 500 rpm. When only one orange and two red LEDs appear, then
the engine has reached operating temperature.

Distinctively
shaped M rear view mirror.
The courtesy lights package illuminates the gearshift lever and the interior, rear-view mirror.
The rear-view mirror has an automatic anti-dazzle feature to reduce glare.

To protect the driver and front passenger,
front, side and head airbags are standard equipment. Two side airbags for the rear seats are optional.
Automatic
air conditioning with separate temperature control for the driver and front-seat passenger is standard equipment.
