A glimpse into the future of automotive design and
technology, BMW concepts cars showcase the world of tomorrow. From the Z1 to the latest
models like the Z22, concepts turn heads and ultimately change the way we think of motoring.
Concept
cars showcase innovations in motoring as well as in design. Past BMW
concepts like disk brakes, fully independent suspension and navigation
systems are now commonplace on today's cars.
Here are
some BMW concepts and concept cars, past, present, and future:
Clever. Clever

follow in the tradition of other innovative motorcycle-style vehicles from BMW
that include the 50's
Isetta and today's
trend-setter, the
C1.
The
X4. BMW's latest concept car with front-wheel drive and an aluminum
Flame Surface. Built on the X5 frame, the X4 is
a new chapter in vehicle design.
The
Z1 was BMW's most innovative roadster,
featuring hi-tech plastic body parts and sinkable doors.
The
X5 Lemans is BMW's way of demonstrating
how sporting a sports vehicle can be!
The
750hL, a production ready car demonstrated at Expo
2000, is the culmination of three decades of research on hydrogen powered vehicles.
