Ang Lee’s work demonstrates his
enormous talent and ability, recently honored at the 2001 Academy Awards
with the Best
Foreign Language Film award.
He first gained fame for The Wedding Banquet (1993), once described as
"a cross-cultural, gay Green Card, comedy of errors." He followed that with his first English-language feature films, Sense and Sensibility (1995) and The Ice Storm (1997), both winning numerous awards internationally. He recently returned to his native language in the
Oscar-winning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
