Replacing the
8 Series, the new cars will be based on the
new 5 Series platform. Styling
is reminiscent of the sleek 6
Series coupes of the past and the
Z9 car of the
future. Other styling features include a long hood, new headlamps, air intakes and huge 18-inch wheels.
The new 6-Series will be powered by a 3.5-liter V-8 producing 235-horsepower. A 286-hp 4.4-liter V-8 is optional, as is another engine with 326 horsepower. An M version is also expected.
