The factory amp on some 5 Series E34
models is a Blaupunkt amplifier made especially for BMW. The amp has two
12-pin male connectors. To bypass the amp, unplug the cables and construct a
jumper according to the table below.
The table below indicates the wiring
required to bypass the factory amp. The "W" and the "B" codes refer to the
White and the Black connectors. The numbers after the codes refer to the pin
locations. So, W11 -> B1 means connect the wire from pin 11 of the White
connector to pin 1 of the Black connector.

| There are several ways to construct a
jumper. You can use patch-style connectors and leave the existing amp cable
ends intact. Or, you can cut the cable ends and run the wires to a junction
block. |
